Famous T.V shows Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah Cast Munmun Dutta is receiving huge backlash on social media. She uses the casteist slur “bhangi” in her recent video.
In the video, she was talking about her makeup and she says “I am coming on YouTube and I wants to look good, and not like a ‘bhangi’.

Many peoples find this an offensive comment and outrage on Twitter and started a trend “ArrestMunmunDutta” and demanded the Mumbai Police take strict against her in the SC/ST act.

Later Munmun Dutta Posted an apology statement on her Social Media. She wrote “This is in reference to a video that I posted yesterday where in one word used by me has been misinterpreted. It was never said with the intent to insult, intimidate, humiliate or hurt anyone’s feelings. Because of my language barrier, I was genuinely misinformed about the meaning of the word. Once I was made aware of its meaning I immediately took the part down. I have utmost respect for every single person from every caste, creed or gender and acknowledge their immense contribution to our Society or nation.”
